There has never been a more important time for businesses and consumers to evaluate the impact they have on the environment. At Katrina Hampton, we believe that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.
The sustainability and environmental impact of our soft furnishings have been a key focus over the past few years. We are actively working to make our products and processes as ethical, durable and eco-conscious as possible, without compromising on the luxury and comfort our customers love.
Sustainable Faux Fur and Synthetic Fabrics
Many of our best-selling products are made from high-quality synthetic fibres, including faux fur, imitation suede and luxe velvet. While some may argue that synthetic materials can’t be sustainable, we believe that responsible manufacturing, durability and longevity play a crucial role in lowering environmental impact.
Responsible Manufacturing
Many of our faux fur fabrics feature modacrylic Kanecron fibres, sourced from Japan. The manufacturing of these fibres is closely monitored to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
All our faux fur fabrics are guaranteed to be free from harmful chemicals and carry OEKO-TEX® certification on the raw materials. This ensures they meet strict environmental and safety criteria.

Made to Last: Quality and Longevity
We choose materials based on long-term durability and premium quality. Combined with meticulous workmanship, this ensures Katrina Hampton products are made to last.
Many of our customers still enjoy throws and cushions purchased over a decade ago. Proper care preserves the pile and fibres for many years, reducing the need for frequent replacement, a key element in sustainable living.
Easy Maintenance and Reduced Environmental Impact
Unlike some fast-fashion homeware products, our faux fur requires minimal cleaning. A simple wipe with a damp cloth is usually enough.
This low-maintenance approach not only preserves the fabric but also reduces the release of synthetic particles into the environment through washing cycles.

Function Meets Form: Warmth and Comfort
Our faux fur is more than just decorative. It’s designed to keep you warm. By using thicker, denser fibres than many mass-produced alternatives, our products trap heat more efficiently, delivering both comfort and energy-saving benefits during colder months.
Natural Alternatives: Ethically Sourced Shetland Wool
Alongside synthetic materials, we also offer a growing range of Shetland wool products. Ethically farmed, locally woven, and made and finished by hand in Yorkshire, this collection includes cosy wool blankets and luxury cushions.
Currently, our range includes cosy wool blankets and luxurious feather-filled cushions, and we have some exciting new prospects currently in development.
Shetland wool is a natural, renewable resource, and using local suppliers helps to minimise environmental impact while supporting sustainable farming practices.

Local Sourcing and Short Supply Chains
Sustainability isn’t just about what we make, it’s about how and where we make it. All our suppliers are located within 25 miles of our warehouse. From cartons and poly bags to labels, cushion filling and packaging, everything is sourced locally.
This minimises transport emissions, supports the local economy, and gives us greater oversight of our supply chain.
We are also actively exploring eco-friendly packaging solutions to further reduce our environmental footprint. We ship all products in gently pre-used cartons and supply our throws in reusable zip bags, perfect for convenient home storage of clothing, bedding, and more.
Vegan, Ethical and Built for the Future
Knowing the full history of our fabrics gives us confidence in the ethical status and sustainability of our products. We’ve worked with the same trusted fabric sources for over 20 years, ensuring excellent traceability and transparency throughout our supply chain.
